Evolution of mobility, according to the time of year, most frequent origins and destinations for each municipality

At the Metrópoli Institute, we have calculated the volume of trips, on weekdays and holidays, to all origins and destinations throughout Spain with some mobility relationship with each of the municipalities of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. And this during all the weeks of 2022 and the first three months of 2023.
We have used data from anonymized mobile phone records that the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MITMA) makes available on its website. Since January 1, 2022, and for the second time, the Ministry has carried out an analysis of mobility in Spain, based on data from anonymized mobile phone records and provides the possibility of downloading this open data.
The result of the work carried out is the improvement and simplification of access to MITMA’s Big data. With a file for each municipality and for each week of the year, everyone can see how mobility has evolved during the different seasons of the year and what are the most frequent origins and destinations for each municipality.
