The third Strategic Plan aims to establish the vision, challenges and missions of the city of Granollers in the 2030 horizon and is the result of a process of collaboration and consensus between citizens, the social, economic and political agents of Granollers . This Plan aims for Granollers to be ready and able to face global challenges, grounding them in the concrete reality of the city and its surroundings. These global challenges and the measures to deal with them are specified in the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and the Urban Agenda of the United Nations, but also in the European, Spanish and Catalan Urban Agenda.
The preparation of the third Strategic Plan has become an opportunity to identify local actions that allow progress towards a healthier, resilient, sustainable, cohesive city, consistent with international agendas and the aspirations of citizens. On July 27, 2021, the municipal council unanimously approved the orientation and organization document for the preparation process of the “Third Strategic Plan Granollers 2030. A local action plan with global meaning”, which established the transversal challenges that they have structured the missions, as well as the organization and governance model, and the phases of the process. In addition, the appointment of three commissioners who would lead the driving groups of the Strategic Plan was approved, due to their professional career and links with the city and the areas of work of the Plan.
The content of this Plan is therefore the product of numerous work spaces where it was possible to collect the problems, objectives and actions, coming from different agents who have participated in the identification of the needs and opportunities of Granollers and its surroundings.
