The Survey of Neighborhood Relations and Coexistence of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (ECAMB) aims to collect information on the state of neighborhood relations and coexistence in metropolitan neighborhoods. Since 2018, the ECAMB has been carried out biennially, after a first pilot survey carried out in 2017.

The monographic report on discrimination contains representative indicators on the prevalence of discrimination among the metropolitan population, which allow episodes of discrimination to be characterized. Specifically, the reason for discrimination is investigated, which may include skin color, ethnicity, or country of origin; sexual orientation or gender identity; the fact of being a woman; political beliefs; religious beliefs; the usual language; age; chronic illnesses or disabilities; and other reasons, allowing the person to specify them. People are also asked to select the most serious or important episode for them and answer a series of questions to identify the type of discriminatory behavior experienced, the discriminatory agent, the place where the discrimination took place, the emotional impact, the communication of the episode and the reasons why it has not been reported, if applicable.
